(after Kay Sage)
Nothing lies beyond
the fold between
a galvanized sky
and dry landskin,
where a beached
tanker deludes,
mimics home,
growing mangled
iron-grass along
rusty streams
of pipes—what’s
the use of canopies
if they don’t offer
shade like trees?
