In the Third Sleep

by Marc Perez
(after Kay Sage)

Nothing lies beyond
the fold between

a galvanized sky
and dry landskin,

where a beached
tanker deludes,

mimics home,
growing mangled

iron-grass along
rusty streams

of pipes—what’s
the use of canopies

if they don’t offer
shade like trees?

In the Third Sleep

by Gillian Sze
(after Kay Sage)

where does it come from

this gravestone reckoning

metallic mentioning

this ocean inversion

folded origami of forgotten time

meet me here one day

a slated promise

a tumulus inkling

heavy as an island
